Uniswap at midnight last night via the social media site Twitter announced the launch of Uniswap Mainnet V3 will take place on 5 May 2021.
Uniswap V3 is considered more flexible and appears to be the most efficient automated market maker (AMM) ever created.
The V3 launch will be launched separately where it will start with the Ethereum L1 mainnet on May 5, followed by the L2 launch on Optimism.
Uniswap saw as much as 20% -25% of transactions per day on the Ethereum network and V2 has handled a total of $ 135 billion of transactions since its launch in May 2020. Meanwhile V1 was launched in 2018.
So, what's up with the V3?
+ Concentrated Liquidity - gives liquidity providers (LPs) detailed control over the price range of allocated capital.
+ Variation of Cost Levels - LPs have the opportunity to receive compensation due to high risk.
If anyone asks if the V3 is cheaper than the previous version, Uniswap has said the improvement this time is more focused on trade execution and capital efficiency.
Transaction costs will be stabilized and reduced by a scalable solution for the future Ethereum network, L2 at Optimisim.
It may be that the changes brought this time by the DeFi sector in the Ethereum network will end fierce competition with Binance Smart Chain and other networks.
