Elon Musk's SpaceX company has raised the price of its internet satellite service, Starlink to all customers due to strong inflationary pressures.

According to a SpaceX statement on Twitter, the price of the Starlink kit; terminal; tripod day; WiFi routers will be increased from $ 499 to $ 599 for new purchases.

While for customers who have already made a deposit payment of $ 100, they have to pay $ 549, an increase of $ 50, for the kit before they can receive it.

SpaceX also increased the monthly subscription price from $ 99 to $ 110, an increase of $ 11.

According to SpaceX, the action was ‘made to adapt to the situation with rising inflation rates’.

He added that customers can cancel their Starlink subscription and resend the kit within a year for a refund of $ 200 while new customers will have to pay an advance of $ 710, an increase from $ 600 since its beta testing began in October 2020.

So far no further statement from SpaceX.

It is common knowledge that Starlink has more than 2,100 satellites orbiting and plans to launch as many as 42,000 by mid -2021.

In February 2021, Musk once tweeted stating SpaceX ‘needs to go through a deep negative cash flow gap over the next year or so, for Starlink to be more financially viable’.

Additionally, SpaceX President and Chief Operating Officer Gwynne Shotwell said the company has reduced the price of the Starlink terminal from $ 3,000 to $ 1,500 and expects the cost to drop further to several hundred dollars.
