ConsenSys which is the backbone of the MetaMask wallet revealed a total of 30 million monthly active users, up 42% in the four months since November 2021.
It is understood that the majority of active users of MetaMask are from the United States (US), the Philippines, Brazil, Germany, and Nigeria.
Realizing the tremendous user growth, MetaMask has indirectly become an important key in accessing Web 3.0 applications.
Where not, through MetaMask users are able to do anything including generate and collect non-fungible tokens (NFT), join decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), and engage with decentralized financial space (DeFi).
DAO & Token MetaMask
For now, the MetaMask wallet is still moving towards decentralization while focusing on security and interface improvements that are often criticized by users.
In fact, ConsenSys also did not hesitate to expose them in an effort to create DAO and MetaMask tokens.
The presence of DAO which has not yet finalized its launch date plays an important role in ensuring MetaMask’s long -term growth through its community funds.
But the presence of the MetaMask token has really excited its users since last year again, assuming there is the potential to join the same airdrop as the one launched by UniSwap for the earliest users.
MetaMask's head of operations, Jacob.eth, however, said earlier that the purpose of setting up the token was not to 'cash grab' or make a profit.
Because of that, its launch needs to be done with caution after many aspects are considered.
