US stock market closes higher, Dow Jones gains 1.02%

Shares of Intel Corporation led the way among the components of the Dow Jones index today, which gained 3.35 points (6.94%) to close at 51.62. Quotes of Apple Inc rose by 3.86 points (2.27%), closing the auction at 174.07. UnitedHealth Group Incorporated rose 10.38 points or 2.06% to close at 513.61. The losers were Nike Inc shares, which lost 0.91 points or 0.68% to end the session at 132.09. Home Depot Inc was up 1.28 points (0.40%) to close at 315.77, while Caterpillar Inc was down 0.04 points (0.02%) to close at 222. 13.


Among the S&P 500 components gaining today were NVIDIA Corporation, which rose 9.82% to hit 281.50, Intel Corporation, which gained 6.94% to close at 51.62, and Monolithic Power Systems Inc, which edged up 6.66% to end the session at 494.62. The biggest losers were EPAM Systems Inc, which shed 6.13% to close at 287.84. Shares of Nielsen Holdings PLC lost 3.79% to end the session at 22.35. Quotes of Occidental Petroleum Corporation decreased in price by 3.53% to 57.73. Leading gainers among the components of the NASDAQ Composite in today's trading were InMed Pharmaceuticals Inc, which rose 43.05% to 1.08, Global Internet of People Inc, which gained 38.35% to close at 1.84. , as well as shares of AgriFORCE Growing Systems Ltd, which rose 34.89% to close the session at 4.91.


The drop leaders were shares of LiqTech International Inc, which lost 36.32% to close at 2.98. Shares of Vicinity Motor Corp lost 25.98% to end the session at 2.45. Quotes of Volcon Inc decreased in price by 17.87% to 2.16. On the New York Stock Exchange, the number of securities that rose in price (2071) exceeded the number of those that closed in the red (1102), while quotes of 120 shares remained practically unchanged. On the NASDAQ stock exchange, 2576 companies rose in price, 1290 fell, and 162 remained at the level of the previous close. The CBOE Volatility Index, which is based on S&P 500 options trading, fell 8.06% to 21.67, hitting a new monthly low.


Gold futures for April delivery added 1.26%, or 24.35, to $1.00 a troy ounce. In other commodities, WTI crude for May delivery fell 3.08%, or 3.54, to $111.39 a barrel. Futures for Brent oil for May delivery fell 2.99%, or 3.63, to $117.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, in the Forex market, the EUR/USD pair remained unchanged 0.05% to 1.10, while USD/JPY rose 0.96% to hit 122.32. Futures on the USD index rose by 0.18% to 98.79.
