Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz revealed the company is preparing to enter non-fungible token (NFT) trading, as early as the end of this year.
In an Open Forum program on April 4, Schultz acknowledged this ecosystem is still too young but that doesn't mean this leading coffee chain should not join NFT.
Not only do Starbucks have a knack for joining the trend, but they also have the best collections worthy of being an NFT:
“Take a look at the companies, big names, celebrities, and influencers who are trying to generate NFT platforms and commerce. I don't see any project that equates to the uniqueness of Starbucks, starting from the collection to the entire ecosystem."
This coffee brand is perhaps the only one that has a timeless tradition, history, and its own collection from around the world that no digital producer can compete with.
It is not impossible that Starbucks will rise to become the world's leading NFT platform given the current market value of Starbucks is approximately $96.7 billion, while OpenSea is only $13.3 billion.
It also means Starbucks is getting more and more involved in the metaverse!
