‘Yes, there is no reason to be locked down again. China's development plans are ruined. '

China is back in the grip of the Covid-19 outbreak after recording 166 new cases stemming from a restaurant bar in the city of Beijing, forcing movement-restriction measures to be carried out again in the area.

Government sources confirmed the spread started from a bar restaurant, Heaven Supermarket Bar near Sanlitun in Chaoyang county, which forced the area to be placed under strict restrictions for 10 days starting Sunday.

It indirectly reinstated the ‘zero-COVID’ policy pursued by the government after acting to introduce some regulatory relaxations last week.

As of April 22, the Chinese capital had recorded 1,997 local Covid-19 cases.

Meanwhile, the city of Shanghai, which has just relaxed some restrictions after 2 months of confinement, was also ordered to undergo PCR screening tests.

It is understood that 15 of the 16 counties in Shanghai will carry out the screening and 5 counties among them have started testing last weekend after receiving the ban on leaving residence.

So this will once again put pressure on China's economy which is slowing down its growth this year, besides also affecting several other related sectors.
