 "There is also the result of PM Ismail Sabri going to the US that day, it must be challenging to see President Jokowi close to Elon Musk."

The signing of the Letter of Intent (LOI) between Microsoft Corp and MyDIGITAL Corporation confirms the ‘MyDIGITAL GovTech Innovation’ partnership that will foster the value of innovation, digital skills and build economic resilience.

According to an official statement from the government agency, the LOI was signed during the visit of Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob to the United States (US) in May.

It is understood the partnership will outline cooperation in building cybersecurity capabilities, driving the use of technology and nurturing talent in growing the digital economy.

Apart from that, the partnership is also joined by the Malaysian Administrative Modernization and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) which will equip civil servants with digital skills and training in support of the government's aspirations.

Comment by the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Economy), Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, the partnership plays an important role in the civil service in Malaysia to build a strong economic resilience of the country.

Not only that, he also welcomed Microsoft as a knowledge and technology partner as well as its commitment in training 300,000 employees by 2022 with the national Human Resource Development Corporation.

In the meantime, this partnership will indirectly realize the desired targets of the 12th Malaysia Plan and the Malaysian Digital Economy Action Plan;

80% use of public storage throughout the government by 2022.

100% digitally literate civil servants by 2025.

80% of government services will be accessible at your fingertips by 2025.

On the other hand, Microsoft said the partnership would create a credible public network as well as empower the Malaysian public sector in its digital transformation plan.
