US stocks closed lower, Dow Jones down 1.94%

 At the close of the New York Stock Exchange, the Dow Jones was down 1.94%, the S&P 500 was down 2.38% and the NASDAQ Composite was down 2.75%. The leading performer among the components of the Dow Jones index today was Home Depot Inc, which gained 2.33 points (0.78%) to close at 299.86. UnitedHealth Group Incorporated fell 4.10 points or 0.83% to close at 489.43. 3M Company lost 0.85% or 1.24 points to close at 144.18. The losers were Boeing Co shares, which fell 5.90 points or 4.23% to end the session at 133.73. The Walt Disney Company was up 3.76% or 4.04 points to close at 103.30, while Apple Inc was down 3.60% or 5.32 points to close at 142. 64. Leading gainers among the components of the S&P 500 in today's trading were NXP Semiconductors NV, which rose 4.04% to 184.22, Pool Corporation, which gained 2.34% to close at 416.39, and shares of Dollar General Corporation, which rose 1.70% to end the session at 237.71. Moderna Inc became the leader of the fall, which shed 9.76% to close at 134.04. Shares of Carnival Corporation shed 9.28% to end the session at 11.73. Quotes Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd fell in price by 9.17% to 13.76.


Leading gainers among the components of the NASDAQ Composite in today's trading were Powerbridge Technologies Co Ltd, which rose 189.86% to 1.12, Nextplay Technologies Inc, which gained 93.43% to close at 0.35. as well as DBV Technologies, which rose 79.56% to end the session at 3.25. Cerberus Cyber Sentinel Corp became the leader of the fall, which shed 42.59% to close at 5.27. Shares of Integrated Media Technology Ltd shed 27.40% to end the session at 2.65. Quotes of Transphorm Technology Inc decreased in price by 25.64% to 4.90. On the New York Stock Exchange, the number of securities that fell in price (2,707) exceeded the number of those that closed in positive territory (506), and quotes of 75 shares remained virtually unchanged. On the NASDAQ stock exchange, 2,788 companies fell in price, 1,065 rose, and 195 remained at the level of the previous close. The CBOE Volatility Index, which is based on S&P 500 options trading, rose 8.89% to 9/26. Gold futures for August delivery lost 0.31%, or 5.80, to hit $1.00 a troy ounce. In other commodities, WTI July futures fell 0.70%, or 0.86, to $121.25 a barrel. Brent crude for August delivery fell 0.61%, or 0.75, to $122.83 a barrel. Meanwhile, in the Forex market, EUR/USD fell 0.91% to hit 1.06, while USD/JPY edged up 0.15% to hit 134.43. Futures on the USD index rose 0.76% to 103.32.
