Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange platform has launched NFT tickets for Italian football club S.S. matches. Lazio in the 2022-2023 Italian Serie A championship.
The Lazio Fan Token was established in October 2021 with Binance being the main T-shirt sponsor of Lazio. The $30.5 million sponsorship deal has been agreed by both parties to work together for two years or more.
The deal has allowed Binance to start selling single tickets as well as seasonal NFTs for the club.
That streak, NFT ticket buyers will be able to watch the home team play at the famous stadium in Rome, Studio Olimpico.
In addition to getting access to the stadium, NFT ticket holders will receive a 10% discount on any purchase made in the Lazio store as well as a 20% discount on Europa League club match tickets.
Fans who purchase NFT tickets are also eligible to win fan tokens and gain access to some exclusive events. Therefore, Lazio fans need to register to a Binance account and visit the Binance Fan Token Platform to purchase the ticket.
Marco Canigiani, S.S. Marketing Director Lazio stated that the partnership with Binance allows S.S. Lazio to change and influence the way fans interact with the various product offerings from the sports club.
Accordingly, in order to avoid issues such as ticket forgery and ticket resale at a higher price than the original price, Binance's NFT ticket technology has increased the credibility of the ticket system.
These features can help prevent chaos at such important sporting events from counterfeiting and unauthorized resale of tickets.
