Billy Markus, the co-founder of Dogecoin was praised by a Twitter user with the account name Vee, for turning down a lucrative offer of an estimated $14 million to betray the DOGE community by promoting the Dogechain project.

Billy was offered 10 billion DC from Dogechain to promote their project with an estimated current exchange value of $14 million.

Vee said other Dogecoin influencers would definitely betray the community to anyone to make a quick profit to buy a house, car, ship etc. but not Billy even though he himself is said to be unable to buy a house for himself.

According to Billy, it is difficult to protect the DOGE community because most individuals have their own minds and are free to make their own decisions, including focusing too much on making a lot of money to the point of betraying the entire project.

He added that he will not force people to buy DOGE because an individual should get a basic understanding of what he wants to do before making any investment.

Although it is difficult for Marcus to convince most influencers not to betray the community for cheap profit, he is always committed to protecting the community from fraud.

For example, earlier this year Marcus warned against suing famous crypto YouTuber Matt Wallace for planning to misuse the DOGE trademark for his own gain.
