Google Has Invested $1.5 Billion In Blockchain Companies

 Google's parent company Alphabet Inc is the company that invested the most in the blockchain industry compared to any other company with investments amounting to $1.5 billion between September 2021 and June 2022.


In a recent blog by Blockdata, Alphabet (Google) was revealed as the most invested investor compared to the top 40 companies investing in blockchain and crypto companies during the period.


Google has invested $1.5 billion focusing on four blockchain companies, namely digital asset custody platform Fireblocks, Web3 gaming company Dapper Labs, Bitcoin infrastructure tool Voltage and venture capital company Digital Currency Group.


In stark contrast to last year, Google has diversified its much smaller efforts with $601.4 million in funding across 17 blockchain-based companies, including Dapper Labs, Alchemy, Blockchain.com, Celo, Helium and Ripple.



Additionally, Google has increased its investments consistently with the other top 40 publicly traded companies, with a total of $6 billion invested at this time.


Other large corporate investors including management company BlackRock have also invested $1.17 billion, investment banking corporation Morgan Stanley with $1.17 billion and electronics company Samsung invested $979.2 million.


Meanwhile, Google, Morgan Stanley and BlackRock used the approach of investing in two to three companies during the period.
