Haven't heard from Russia for a long time, I know Dell wraps it up

The United States (US) computer company, Dell Technologies Inc. confirmed its withdrawal from the Russian market after suspending its operations in mid-August.

This was confirmed by Dell's spokesman, Mike Siemienas, when he said that all offices and operations in Russia had been shut down after months of suspending business.

As a context, Dell suspended the company's operations including sales, service and customer support activities last February after Russia invaded Ukraine.

At that time Dell had blocked any business flow in Russia, Belarus and some areas in Ukraine including Donetsk and Luhansk as a protest against the invasion.

Dell's action, albeit late, adds to the list of US companies that have acted to impose sanctions on Russia.

It should be noted that Dell is the main computer wholesaler in Russia and is also a major player in the Moscow market.

A source from Russia's CNews said Dell's move to completely exit the market has resulted in a large number of workers losing income.

However, the Russian Ministry of Industry informed that to all the researchers and engineers expelled Dell has been offered new jobs.
