Although nearly a week has passed since US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit, China continued its large-scale military exercises around Taiwan on Monday.
However, the threat posed by China appeared to be diminishing when the Beijing military's Eastern Theater Command said it would practice anti-submarine warfare and naval raids.
On Monday, Taiwan said Chinese aircraft and ships had not entered its territorial waters, which extend 12 nautical miles (22km; 14 miles) from the coast, during exercises so far.
China had previously conducted exercises around the island for four days in response to Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan.
As a result, Taiwan has accused China of using this exercise as practice for an invasion of the island.
While the United States, along with Australia and Japan also condemned the exercise, saying their objective was to change the status quo in the Taiwan Strait.
