UK Has Dumped Russian Oil!

Britain does not seem to be playing around after it promised to stop Russian oil imports since the invasion of Ukraine.

For the first time on record, official data showed that the UK imported no fuel from Russia in June.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) also reported that imports of goods from Russia fell significantly by £33m in June, the lowest level since records began in January 1997.

This shows that the UK government has achieved its objective of phasing out Russian oil imports by the end of 2022 and ending gas imports as soon as possible.

Fuel imports from Russia fell by £499m or 100%, compared to the average for the previous 12 months to February.

According to the International Energy Agency, the UK will import about 4% of its gas from Russia, and 11% of its oil in 2021.

The ONS said the UK had offset the reduction by increasing imports of refined oil from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the Netherlands and Belgium.
