Ukraine's Nuclear Plant Was Attacked, Who Is The Mastermind?

To this day, neither Russia nor Ukraine has claimed responsibility for the attack on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, Europe's largest.

In fact, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that Ukraine was planning to carry out a provocation at the plant on August 19, when UN Secretary-General Anthonio Guterres is expected to visit.

However, they did not provide evidence to support the claim.

Anthonio Guterres will meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Turkish President Tayyip Endorgan this week to discuss the grain delivery agreement and the attack on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant.

The military activities in Zaporizhzhia that have been going on for the past few weeks have sparked the concern of many parties, including the UN, who fear a major disaster.

The power station has been under Russian control since it was captured in March, but is still run by Ukrainian workers.

Kyiv and Moscow have accused each other of the attack on the plant with both sides describing it as 'nuclear terrorism'.

Separately, Ukrainian authorities have been conducting disaster drills near the plant in preparation for the eventuality.
