Due to entering the wrong instructions, the entire company was destroyed
Decentralized financial platform OptiFi had a bad day after a crypto developer accidentally made a coding error that caused the entire Solana blockchain platform to shut down, wiping out $661,000 USDC stablecoins.
Through the OptiFi blog post, it apologized for the incident that led to the immediate closure of OptiFi's main program and will prevent such unwanted things from happening again.
Therefore, the company announced that it will compensate all user funds that have been overrun in the unfortunate incident, and users of the OptiFi platform are also asked to visit the company's Discord server for further advice or to ask any questions.
Understandably, carrying out financial transactions without any intermediary authority will have a higher risk exposure.
However OptiFi stated that one of its developers only tried to update the program on the Solana blockchain but caused the entire company to shut down resulting in more than half a million USDC dollars being unrecoverable.
Following that, OptiFi immediately searched for a related topic on Solana's discord, but the response indicated that the company was unable to revert its program to its previous program ID.
It is clear here, the crypto programmer has destroyed his entire company just because he entered the wrong command and now OptiFi has to make his own decision to correct the mistake he made.
