The former chairman of the Indian conglomerate Tata Sons, Cyrus Mistry was involved in a road accident while the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Bed Bath & Beyond Inc, Gustavo Arnal fell from a building.
The sad news is said to have happened on the same day but in different places and both individuals were confirmed to have died.
It is understood that 54-year-old Cyrus Mistry was seen in an accident in Palghar, about 100 kilometers north of Mumbai on Sunday.
For the record, he is the 3rd chairman of the Tata Group which was established more than 150 years ago and was inherited after his grandfather bought shares in the company in the 1930s.
The last time he held the position was in 2016 before being ousted following a legal battle in the boardroom.
On the other hand, 52-year-old Gustavo Arnal is said to have fallen from the 18th floor of the Tribeca New York skyscraper, also known as the 'Jenga' tower.
Summary of Arnal's history, he previously held the position of CFO of cosmetics brand Avon in London and served for 20 years with Proter & Gamble then joined Bed Bath & Beyond in 2000.
As of August 16, Arnal had sold 55,013 shares of the company and his departure was deeply felt by Bed Bath & Beyond as they were going through a crisis with the closure of 150 stores, layoffs and business restructuring.
