Neither wind nor storm suddenly Taiwan dropped a number of countries including Malaysia from the category of visa-free entry* starting next week.
* permission for individuals to visit a country and go through immigration which is also called 'landing permission'.
Through Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, Malaysia is listed along with Singapore, Israel, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Brunei, the Philippines, Russia, Chile, the Dominican Republic, and Nicaragua.
However, it is a 'temporary suspension' after a representative of the Taipei office in Singapore said that there was a 'misunderstanding' of the news.
According to sources from Taiwan's own Bureau of Consular Affairs, they will resume visa-free entry for visitors from several countries from September 12.
Commenting further, this matter was originally made to facilitate the controls implemented to curb the spread of Covid-19 since most countries around the world are starting to reopen borders.
This was taken into account after the Taiwanese government set a limit of 50,000 tourists per week.
However, the bureau did not clearly state which countries will receive the visa-free benefits again.
