Adidas Ends Collaboration With Kanye West

The collaboration between Adidas Yezzy and Kanye West has been placed under scrutiny due to the celebrity's actions which have created negative sentiments on racial issues.

Adidas announced that all their collaboration products with the rapper will be withdrawn from their sales immediately.

This happened due to the actions of Kanye West (Ye) who came out wearing a t-shirt that said "White Lives Matter" at the Paris Fashion Week last year.

Earlier, the phrase "Black Lives Matter" was widely used around the world after the death of George Floyd who died due to the racist attitude of a white police officer against black people in Minneapolis, United States in 2020.

Since that incident, the phrase has become a political and social movement that highlights racist incidents that black people have experienced.

Ye has also uploaded anti-semitic comments on his Twitter account.

The withdrawal of sales of the collaboration product will result in Adidas experiencing a net loss of £217 million in 2022.

Earlier too, Ye had accused Adidas of stealing his designs on his Instagram account.

In a statement from Adidas on Tuesday, they stated that Adidas absolutely does not support any hateful speech against any party, including anti-semitism.

Kanye West's Instagram and Twitter accounts have already been suspended and his partnership business with other brands has also been affected.

Big brands like Gap and Balenciaga have cut ties with Ye.

No exception, the talent search agency, Creative Artist Agency and the film and television company, MRC also took the same action against Ye.
