'The new monarchy of England begins.'
From December 2022, coins with the face of King Charles III will be widely used.
It is understood that The Royal Mint* has started producing 50 cents or 50 pence British coins that display the face of the new King of England as he celebrates his 70th birthday.
*The world's oldest banking company that started operating in the 9th century and is responsible for printing the face on England's currency.
According to The Royal Mint's currency engraver, Martin Jennings, the process of producing the new currency face was an 'amazing' experience.
He added that The Royal Mint had to go through many procedures in choosing and getting approval from King Charles to add institutional value to the face of the new coin before starting to print it.
Although British money will be printed with the new King's face, the services and memories of the late Queen Elizabeth who led England for almost a century have not been forgotten.
On the reverse side of the 50 cent coin, the 1953 crown design is printed to commemorate the King's coronation, in addition to being engraved with 4 Royal shields that each display the national coat of arms such as the Rose; Thistle, Shamrock; and leeks.
In the meantime, a total of 9.6 million new coins will be distributed in stages by banks, community bodies and post offices in stages until the denomination is successfully adjusted according to demand.
This means that coins with the Queen's face will gradually be replaced in England.
Commenting on the new coin, the Director of The Royal Mint Museum described it as a historic moment of change in the monarchy that the public can witness with their own eyes.
