The CEO of Binance “CZ” on Thursday announced that the National Bank of Kazakhstan (NKB) plans to integrate its central bank digital currency Digital Tenge with the BNB Chain. Recently, the Binance team met with Kazakhstan's central bank officials to discuss the prospect of integrating its CBDC with the BNB Chain.
After receiving the license in May, Binance began working with Kazakhstan's government and regulators to roll out crypto adoption and regulation in the country. The crypto exchange even received a permanent license from the AIFC Financial Services Authority (AFSA) on October 6.
CEO "CZ" in his tweet on October 27 announced that the National Bank of Kazakhstan (NKB) will integrate its CBDC, Digital Tenge, with the BNB Chain. Kazakhstan's central bank recently launched a pilot CBDC in a controlled environment and conducted tests with users and merchants.
The move came after Binance met with Berik Sholpankulov, First Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Kazakhstan (NKB), and Binur Zhalenov, Head of the Payments and Technology Center, to discuss the benefits of the BNB Chain. Also, plans to integrate CBDC with the BNB Chain were also discussed.
The National Bank of Kazakhstan (NKB) will prepare the use of CBDC to be integrated with the BNB Chain. This will help bridge the gap between traditional banking and the crypto ecosystem.
At the same time, the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also gave the 'green light' in crypto trading and mining in the country. Kazakhstan also presented a draft law on cryptomining to efficiently regulate cryptomining.
