'North Korea is getting worse, the wrong day of the month of the 3rd world war started in Asia.'
The morning of South Koreans started with the bang of 3 North Korean missiles that landed in the waters of the hallyu country.
Citing a source from South Korea, at approximately 8:55 a.m. a warning siren was sounded after a North Korean missile landed 57 kilometers from the coast of the city of Sokcho.
Commenting on the incident, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) detected that another short-range ballistic missile had landed in Wonsan waters, which is 26 kilometers from the North Limit Line of Korea's maritime border.
In addition, another missile is said to have fallen approximately 167 kilometers from Ulleung which in turn triggered an air strike warning by North Korea.
The airstrikes took place hours after Pyongyang issued a warning to stop large-scale military exercises between South Korea and the United States (US).
North Korea described the exercise as a 'provocation that should not be taken lightly' and is believed to have launched the first attack to land in South Korean waters.
However, a South Korean military spokesman said authorities would investigate the matter to determine whether North Korea had deliberately aimed the missile at them or just a misguided test.
In the meantime, the JCS emphasized that it was the first time that a North Korean ballistic missile hit South Korean waters and took the view of the action as a provocation.
