Famous soccer player and Ballon d'Or winner, Lionel Messi is reported to be an investor and brand ambassador for Sorare, a French non-fungible token (NFT) trading game company.

It is understood that the club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) will work with Sorare in setting new standards and a unique experience so that fans can easily interact with the club and players.

According to Nicolás Julia, Sorare's Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder stated that he is confident Messi can have a big impact on this new project when the company allows NFT buyers to collect and exchange player cards to participate in fantasy football tournaments.

In fact, Sorare will make Messi a shareholder of the company, but refuses to reveal the number of shares he holds.

Generally, the NFT virtual card will be recorded on the blockchain which can encourage trading activities among the buyers of the digital asset.

For context, Sorare is a Parisian startup that has grown rapidly to 185 countries and has over two million users with a net worth of $4.3 billion.

Not only that, the company has signed agreements with 300 sports teams and leagues around the world including the Bundesliga and Spain's La Liga.

Meanwhile, Sorare is eager to do whatever it takes to expand his platform into other sports such as basketball or baseball.

Messi also mentioned that Sorare's combination of fantasy games and digital collections can give fans a new way to encourage them to delve into the NFT market and see their favorite players and teams.
