While the people of China are confined due to strict Covid-19 restrictions, billionaire Jack Ma is apparently hiding in Tokyo with his family.
Jack Ma, the founder of e-commerce giant Alibaba, has long disappeared from the public eye since Beijing's crackdown on his tech firm.
However, his trail began to be detected in Japan where he and his family have been in the country for almost six months, in addition to frequent visits to the United States.
In Tokyo, Jack Ma is found active with involvement in several private members' clubs in Ginza and Muronouchi.
Known as China's most famous figure and richest tech leader, Jack Ma has 'disappeared from the radar' in recent years after his criticism of government regulations landed him in trouble with Beijing.
The move backfired when it also affected the initial public offering of financial giant Ant Group Co.
It was later followed by a sweeping crackdown on the private sector in China, aimed at curbing the monopoly power of internet firms.
Since his dispute with Chinese authorities, Jack Ma has been tracked down in various countries including Spain and the Netherlands.
