The meeting between the President of the United States Joe Biden and the President of China Xi Jinping at the G20 summit in Bali was seen as more 'calm' than expected.

In fact, Biden also surprised many parties following his statement that there would be no new 'cold war' with Beijing after the meeting that had lasted for three hours.

Not only that, the leader also said that he did not think there would be any attempt by China to attack Taiwan.

During the meeting, Biden and Xi also discussed the issue of North Korea and Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Both expressed opposition to Ukraine's use of nuclear weapons with Xi Jinping repeating China's call for peace.

In addition to that, Biden said they have agreed to establish a mechanism where there will be dialogue at the main level of government to resolve related issues.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken is also said to be visiting China soon following the talks.

Although the two leaders have spoken five times via video conference, this is the first face-to-face meeting held by Biden and Xi since the US president was elected in 2020.
