SARS-CoV-2 Mutates More Than X-Men

'It's enough for the virus to turn people into zombies.'

Day by day the inhabited earth is becoming more challenging with SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) continuing to mutate to become a new variant with more extreme effects of infection.

A laboratory study in South Africa found that Covid-19 samples taken from immunocompromised individuals 6 months ago were able to mutate like the pathogen, creating new variants with more severe infection effects than Omicron.

A study from the same laboratory that first discovered the Omicron variant, found that the virus sample mutated within 6 months to cause a similar level of fusion and cell death as Omicron BA.1.

But what is surprising is that when it develops the level increases to be similar to the first version of Covid-19 identified in Wuhan, China.

Commented Alex Sigel, head of the Africa Health Research Institute who conducted the study, the Covid-19 pathogen will continue to mutate and create new variants with more severe effects or death than other Omicron chains.

He added that the pathogen mutates in individuals with weak immunity such as HIV patients because the state of weak antibodies gives more room to mutate.

In the meantime, the conclusion of the study said that the variant of Covid-19 in the future will mutate to a pathogenic type compared to the current form on the Omicron chain.
