While many economies were affected by the war in Ukraine, these countries benefited from the influx of Russian immigrants and their wealth.
Georgia, which sits on Russia's southern border, has seen its economy grow rapidly amid ongoing unrest.
At least 112,000 Russians have immigrated to Georgia this year, with the first wave occurring at the start of Russia's invasion of Ukraine on February 24 with the arrival of nearly 43,000 people.
While the second wave occurred after the military deployment of President Vladimir Putin in September, but the number of admissions could not be determined.
Georgia's economy has received a huge impact from this influx which is already growing post-Covid-19.
In fact, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) predicts its economy will grow by 10% in 2022, tripling its initial projection in April.
The arrival of Russian immigrants also brought with them an influx of money, with the National Bank of Georgia saying Moscow transferred $1.412 billion to the country's accounts, more than four times the $314 million transferred in the same period in 2021.
Meanwhile, Armenia and Turkey have also benefited from the influx of Russian immigrants, with the IMF projecting that their respective economies are expected to grow by 11% and 5%.
Turkey generously granted residence permits to 118,626 Russians this year, seeing a fifth of its foreign property sales dominated by immigrants from the country.
Unexpectedly, it appears that there are countries that benefit from the Russian and Ukrainian wars. However, the approaching year 2023 is expected to be more challenging for the world with slower growth forecast.
