Perhaps fed up with the alternating Covid-19 restrictions, workers at Foxconn's electronics factory in China fled the factory over the weekend.

Foxconn, which is the largest manufacturer of iPhones in the city of Zhengzhou, is among those affected by President Xi Jinping's zero-Covid policy.

Citing a Financial Times report that reported statements from Foxconn workers, the situation at the factory is becoming increasingly alarming due to the lack of food and medical supplies.

While the workers were locked in a dormitory room for quarantine, causing hundreds of workers to flee.

Becoming China's third-largest exporter in 2019, the factory shipped $32 billion worth of electronic goods overseas.

In response to these reports, Foxconn issued three notices on Sunday promising to arrange a safe passage for workers who want to leave and a clean environment for those who choose to stay.

Meanwhile separately, the latest sanctions are said to cause China to cut production of Apple devices by 30% in November.

Following this sad news, investors saw Foxcoon shares fall o.3% in the Asian session on Monday.
