Vitalik Reveals Ethereum Is Moving To A New Phase After 'The Merge'

Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum (ETH) has reportedly implemented a new ETH technical roadmap to improve its censorship resistance and decentralized network.

He commented that the plan will see six more parts, namely a new third tier Scourge after Surge, and then continue with Verge, Purge and Splurge.

It is understood that after the transition of ETH to the proof-of-stake (PoS) network dubbed The Merge was implemented, Buterin created Surge to achieve 100,000 transactions per second through rollup*.

*perform transaction execution outside the main ETH blockchain and send transaction data back to the main ETH network

Apart from Surge, Scourge works to ensure that transaction entry is from trusted individuals and there are no third parties as there are miners exploiting transactions on the ETH network for their own benefit.

Nevertheless, Buterin will always make a reliable and transparent plan so that the action will never discriminate against a party.

In the meantime, ETH is said to have increased the reform after The Merge in order to prevent miners from carrying out fraudulent transactions to generate a certain amount of profit.

Buterin stressed that the "Partial Block Auction" solution only gives the block builder the right to decide some of the content of the block even though information related to Scourge has not been clearly stated.

He further added that he will incorporate Succinct Non-Interactive Argument of Knowledge (SNARK) technology into ETH for Verge-related updates that allow anonymous transactions to be tracked and create privacy.

In the meantime, ETH also launched quantum-proofness** at various stages of the ETH roadmap as one of the required components of the protocol.
