Infectious disease experts and the World Health Organization's (WHO) technical chief of Covid-19 issued a warning that the people of the world need to be prepared for the possibility of the pandemic striking again.
The basis was presented by Dr Maria Van Kerkhove during the 7th World One Health Congress citing the issue of inflation and the Russia-Ukraine war crisis adding to the bad image of the world's prospects.
He commented that every country needs to prepare for the possibility of a pandemic and use all past experiences to cope with future possibilities.
Van Kerkhove's advice is that the government needs to coordinate emergency plans such as national plans for prevention preparedness, access to countermeasures such as research and development including community protection and care.
In order to realize the effort, he stressed the political and fiscal importance of providing a strong workforce and comprehensive funding.
In the meantime, the WHO is said to be holding a meeting to sign an agreement with countries to prevent pandemic situations such as Covid-19.
