'Enough days of the month, technology that replaces people directly from the world of work.'
The introduction of cashier-less checkout Amazon.com Inc will be expanded and improved with vice president Dilip Kumar moving to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) division.
About 2 years ago Amazon revolutionized the payment method on its premises with the introduction of Amazon Dash Cart, a smart cart that automatically detects goods with sensors, cameras and computer vision algorithms.
It allows users to place items in the shopping cart and the tracker will directly deduct the value from the customer's Amazon account, turning off the cashier functionality in traditional supermarkets.
Since its introduction, Amazon has sold the smart cart product system in supermarkets in airports, university-owned professional stadiums and in convention centers.
Following that, Kumar plans to increase the number of products such as smart carts in the technology industry with AWS having different types of customers with different needs.
In general, AWS is a cloud computing unit owned by Amazon that also sells technology-based products with the latest being drones for courier-free delivery services.
Kumar further explained that Amazon's technology sales increased 2 to 3 times this year compared to previous stores.
However, Amazon's adoption of technological advancements received mixed reactions among consumers with some openly criticizing it as killing human function in the world of work.
