The passing of Queen Elizabeth II in September is still mourned by Britons, but it opens up an opportunity for King Charles III to taste the throne of the United Kingdom (UK).

The reins of the King's reign are seen slowly replacing his bond with the Bank of England (BOE) beginning to print his face on the Pound paper currency.

According to the official BOE statement that the 10, 20 and 50 banknotes with the face of King Charles will start circulating in mid-2024, slowly replacing the currency of the late Queen.

BOE Governor Andrew Bailey commented, it is an important moment in history as 'The King' is the second ruler to appear on the Pound note.

As for the new banknote, it will feature a portrait of King Charles on the front as well as his shadow in the banknote's transparent security window.

No major changes have been made other than those mentioned, meaning the face value or design remains the same.

It seems that the style of the new era of King Charles' reign has started well with Britain's Royal Mint also starting to issue coins with his face on December 8.

In the meantime, the BOE also confirmed that they will stop issuing Queen Elizabeth banknotes to slowly replace them with new ones but still accept the banknotes for several years.
