In his busyness on Twitter, Elon Musk did not forget the dream of the brain chip belonging to the company Neuralink saying that clinical trials on humans will start 6 months from now.
Musk made the revelation in the company's latest update, putting the projection after years of filing paperwork with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The original plan for Neuralink's human clinical trials was scheduled to begin on October 31 of this year but was delayed by Musk himself without giving any reason.
So far clinical trials of the Neuralink brain chip have only been conducted on animals, mainly monkeys as in its public presentation a few years ago.
For those who don't know, Musk launched the Neuralink brain chip dream in 2016 with the hope of enabling the human brain to control electrical devices and stimulate brain motor functions in Parkinson's, dementia and Alzheimer's patients.
It is hoped to restore paralyzed patients to move and communicate again.
Simply put, Musk wants to combine artificial intelligence (AI) and the human brain like in a sci-fi movie.
However, the Neuralink project has passed the set timeline several times due to several factors such as the safety level of human testing, in addition to the problem of company employees who failed to comply with the FDA's final pull.
So far the FDA has not issued any approval or official statement regarding Neuralink's human clinical trial plan.
