'There are already 2 people criticizing it, which means that Apple is at fault, right?'

Earlier this week Apple Inc's App Store angered Elon Musk when the Twitter app was blocked on iOS devices, now Meta Platform chief executive Mark Zuckerberg added to the criticism.

In an interview during the New York Times DealBook conference, Zuckerberg labeled the App Store's content moderation rules as a 'conflict of interest' against Meta's applications.

His criticism that it becomes a big problem when companies act to control the application experience on their devices with a large portion of the profits in that ecosystem taken by Apple.

It is believed to refer to dominance issues and anti-competition rules Apple and Alphabet Inc's Google face with tech companies in their app stores.

Those issues, policies and fees in particular, are often a point of contention for tech companies that want their apps to break through to the mainstream.

Since Apple's privacy policy changes, most tech companies that rely on advertising to generate revenue have been forced to pay damages.

Meta itself, for example, saw the company's revenue decline after Apple's privacy policy blocked advertising that collected user interest patterns on Facebook and Instagram.

Despite being a vocal critic, Zuckerberg's relationship with Apple's chief executive, Tim Cook, is said to be still good with both of them understood to have resolved misunderstandings regarding the Twitter issue in a 'peaceful meeting'.

In the meantime, Zuckerberg was also asked by reporters about his views on the progress of Elon Musk and Twitter where he said 'it's an interesting thing to watch'.
