Popular watch brand, TIMEX successfully signed an agreement with non-fungible token (NFT) Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) in launching a watch that displays BAYC's PFP on the face of the watch.
Be informed that as many as 500 watches called Timepiece Forge Pass NFT will be released by allowing buyers to choose their own case or strap designs.
That said, Forge Pass owners will need to go to the TIMEX website if they want to design their own watch after completing the NFT mint for 2 Ethereum (ETH) or $2,500.
For context, each physical watch will have a digital version like the NFT, but the delivery date to buyers is likely in the second quarter of 2023.
According to Shari Fabiani, Timex Group's Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Creative Services, stated that his company has entered the Web3 world by maintaining its performance globally.
While members of the BAYC community such as Josh Ong and CryptoVonDoom are among the individuals who contributed ideas for the design of the watch.
It is understood that they had previously intended to collaborate with the OG watch brand, but the plan fell through when the two individuals felt the difficulties they would face in implementing the NFT BAYC watch.
In the meantime, the sale of BAYC watches in collaboration with TIMEX will take place in Miami and will be attended by the BAYC community only.
