The administration of United States President Joe Biden has reportedly terminated the approval of licenses for the country's firms to do business with Chinese technology giant Huawei.
The move comes as the government continues to tighten regulations on US technology exports to Beijing.
According to the BBC citing a Financial Times report, the US Department of Commerce has told several companies in the country that it will no longer issue licenses to export its technology to Huawei.
America has previously accused Huawei Technologies of being a threat to national security and collaborating with the Chinese Communist Party for military purposes.
However, the claims have been repeatedly denied by the company and President Xi Jinping's administration.
Sales from the US firm to Huawei have also been restricted for four years since the administration of former President Donald Trump, which required suppliers to first obtain government approval to sell to the communications equipment giant.
However, this latest move is seen to block Huawei forever from using US technology in the manufacture of its products.
