"The crypto community is the best, help quickly if there is a problem."
Two devastating earthquakes in Turkey and several aftershocks that claimed thousands of lives have caused local and foreign cryptocurrency exchange companies to provide assistance including donations to the country.
While organizations and countries offer support while rescue efforts are underway, the entire crypto community is sending donations via digital assets after finding that the death toll in Turkey and Syria has so far claimed 4,300 lives.
Several crypto exchange companies such as Binance, Gate.io and Bitfinex have started to act to provide aid packages while BitGet was found to have promised a donation of $53,000 and Huobi Global $106,000 to humanitarian aid.
It is already known that the crypto community around the world always acts quickly to provide millions of dollars in aid when there is any crisis such as Russia invading Ukraine last year and when India is struggling with the COVID-19 epidemic in 2021.
As a result, Turkish blockchain companies and research bodies collected petitions demanding that authorities allow crypto-based donations in the country.
It is reported that 40 blockchain-based companies signed the petition asking the Turkish authorities to create a crypto wallet to prevent fraud through aid schemes.
This is because a Twitter user has warned that there are unreliable fundraisers appearing on messaging platforms such as Telegram in Turkey for personal gain.
