Microsoft has announced a new version of its search engine Bing, powered by the same AI technology that powers the ChatGPT chatbot.
The company is launching the product alongside new AI-powered features for its Edge browser, promising that both will provide a new experience for browsing and finding information online.
The move is seen to be the biggest threat to Google which has just announced its new AI weapon, Bard.
Through these improvements, Bing will respond to search queries with more detailed answers that are not just links to websites.
Users can also chat with the bot to better tailor their query, where more suitable answers will be added to the right side of the search page.
Meanwhile separately, Microsoft is reportedly planning to release software to help large companies create their own chatbots similar to ChatGPT.
ChatGPT is developed by Microsoft-backed OpenAI, which uses deep learning techniques to generate human-like responses to search queries.
