Ukraine is preparing for a larger Russian attack that is likely to occur in the next two to three weeks.
The statement was made by the top security officer of the Ukrainian president in an interview on Wednesday with Sky News.
The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov said the most intense fighting will take place and the next few months will be a critical period in determining the course of the war.
As a result, he urged western allies to send more weapons, including Royal Air Force Typhoon jets from the UK and fighter jets from other countries.
Danilov warned that President Vladimir Putin is gathering everything possible and conducting exercises as his readiness to escalate the war in Ukraine.
In fact, he also did not rule out the possibility that the Kremlin will try to launch another attack from the north, south and east, like the one that broke out on February 24, 2022.
Thus, Danilov said the Ukrainian army is also prepared for all those possibilities and this time they have more support from Western countries such as the UK than a year ago.
Even so, a Western official said they had seen no sign Putin was planning anything specific in the coming weeks.
