The three-day meeting between two 'good friends', Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping has been the focus of the world.

The United States and its allies hoped that Beijing would be the 'third person' to stop the Ukrainian war from the meeting, but instead something else happened.

On March 21, Putin and Xi Jinping signed 14 economic agreements, covering everything from scientific cooperation to co-production of television programs.

In fact, the two leaders also discussed efforts to balance the dominance of the US dollar around the world.

As a result, Putin agreed to use the Chinese yuan currency in the context of Russian investment in developing countries such as Asia, Africa and Latin America.

This proves that Beijing continues to be an economic savior for Moscow, which has faced international sanctions stemming from its invasion of Ukraine.

The use of yuan will not only be used by Russia, but also Saudi Arabia which is now said to be considering selling oil to China for yuan instead of US dollars.

Touching on the Ukraine issue, the meeting saw Xi Jinping keep his mouth shut about it.

Instead, Putin and Xi focused on common accusations of NATO's aggression in the East, saying that US hegemony undermined global stability.

Nevertheless, Ukraine welcomes China's involvement in the peace process, with president Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently saying he looks forward to a potential meeting with Xi Jinping.
