"Perhaps the people of Vietnam have started to realize the benefits of crypto, that's why it's increasing."

It was revealed during the 2022 Vietnam cryptocurrency market report that 16.6 million citizens of the country own digital assets, with Bitcoin (BTC) being among the most popular cryptocurrencies held by Vietnamese residents.

For the record, 17% of the country's population bought crypto while 31% invested in BTC, but it should be noted that Thailand is the country with the most digital assets compared to Vietnam.

In addition to having a large number of crypto investors, Vietnam also implements several blockchain projects focusing on Game Finance (GameFi), non-fungible tokens (NFT) and Web3.

Vietnamese nationals reportedly founded seven of the top 200 blockchain companies worldwide, including Axie Infinity, Coin98 and Kyber Network.

Axie Infinity was the most popular blockchain-based game when there were three million users in early 2022 but dropped below one million before surging again in early 2023.

The company came under fire in March last year after North Korean hacking by the Lazarus Group wiped out $600 million worth of digital assets from the Ronin Network, the Ethereum (ETH) sidechain that powers Axie Infinity.

Despite this, Axie Infinity improved its safety policy and resumed operations three months later.

Pleased to be informed that the company successfully overcame the obstacles following its high commitment to blockchain-based games in addition to Vietnam also ranked first in the 2021 research.
