Hollywood star Matt Damon has finally revealed why he appeared in an ad for cryptocurrency exchange company Crypto.com called "Fortune Favors the Brave" that was once the subject of endless mockery.
Speaking at the premiere of his latest film on March 27, Matt appeared a little shy as he explained why he appeared in the ad, which was part of a fundraising effort for his Water.org project.
In general, he founded the clean water project in 2009 with engineer and philanthropist Gary White to increase access to clean water globally through small loan financing that finances the purchase and installation of water pipes including toilets.
He reportedly gave his entire salary to Water.org when they were in dire financial straits.
Even so, Damon said that Crypto.com lightening his burden following the company's donation of $1 million to Water.org has been the reason he is very grateful to them.
It is understood that the ad, which was released in October 2021, starred Matt Damon in the middle of a digital landscape of historical figures such as the Wright brothers and Sir Edmund Hillary, where it appeared on billboards around the world.
However, Matt Damon has been the subject of a joke while on the TV show South Park after the ad received heavy criticism following the crypto market in 2022 saw significant bleeding.
