President Joe Biden officially ended the United States' Covid-19 national health emergency on Monday after more than three years in place.
According to the White House, Biden signed the legislation behind closed doors, where it had previously been approved by Congress.
Following this termination, it means no more massive government funding including free vaccines and other Covid stimulus assistance for US citizens.
The declaration of the Covid-19 pandemic as an emergency was announced by former President Donald Trump on March 13, 2020.
The move to end the emergency is a month earlier than planned by the Biden administration, where it was supposed to end on May 11 along with the public health emergency of Covid.
The vote to end the national emergency before May forced the administration to end some of its emergency programs more quickly.
Meanwhile, the end of the public health emergency next month is expected to have a broader impact on policies such as the Trump-era immigration program known as Title 42.
Title 42, is a regulation that imposes strict restrictions on the acceptance of undocumented arrivals.
