French luxury brand Louis Vuitton is about to launch a new collection of non-fungible tokens (NFT) backed by physical items dubbed Via Treasure Trunks as part of its plans to offer exclusive products and experiences to its customers.
Registration for the issuance of the NFT collection of several hundred units will open on June 8, 2023 to users based in the United States (US), Canada, France, the United Kingdom (UK), Japan and Australia.
While selected customers can buy NFT on June 16, 2023 at a price of €39,000 or around $42,000.
Through the NFT utility roadmap, holders will receive physical replicas of digital Treasure Trunks and gain access to various new Louis Vuitton products.
The NFT collection is part of a larger Louis Vuitton project dubbed “Via” which comes from the Latin word, where Treasure Trunk owners can purchase digital keys to access various utilities.
Treasure Trunks are also sold as soulbound tokens which means that they are non-transferable once purchased and holders cannot sell their NFTs but can sell them when an individual's item is minted in the future.
Like to be informed that Louis Vuitton has not only launched the Aura blockchain for the detection of the authenticity of luxury goods but also signed an agreement with Cartier and Prada to create the Aura Blockchain Consortium to combat counterfeit products.
