"Wow, this unique NFT is different from the others."

Created by Hungarian artist Vera Molnár in collaboration with Martin Grasser, the computer-generated non-fungible token (NFT) sold out in less than an hour when Sotheby's Dutch auctioned 631 Ethereum (ETH) worth $1.2 million.

It is reported that the “Themes and Variations” collection has featured 500 collections generated through an algorithmic combination of 170 color palettes and recursive grids*.

*Usually used in programming to solve problems that can be broken down into smaller categories

Themes and Variations is a development of Molnár's 2% d'ordre generative protocol that explores the power of grids and color randomness, but he has further expanded his system by incorporating the letterforms N, F and T.

It is common knowledge that the appearance of the letters has been randomly selected to be used as a reference in the NFT technology collection guide.

Born in Budapest in 1924, Molnár was one of the first pioneers of computer-generated imagery and previously lectured at the University de Paris and exhibited his work in major European exhibitions.

After decades of exploring how systems and computers can generate artistic output, Molnár thinks the collaboration with Sotheby's and Art Blocks is the culmination of that effort.

The following steps will provide a new way to generate unique never-before-seen abstract shapes defined by machine programming algorithms.

Pleased to inform you that the collection has passed 589 ETH in traded volume on the OpenSea market while the floor price of Themes and Variations increased by more than 100% from 1.25 ETH immediately after the sale ended.
