It seems that American firms have promised investments amounting to US$100 billion or RM465.2 billion in various sectors in this country, which has been for the past 18 months.

The matter was confirmed by the US Ambassador to Malaysia, Brian McFeeters who said the proposal involved focus areas such as electronics and semiconductors.

He said, the increasing investment into this country is good for the US, especially since Malaysia has played an important role in its contribution to the world supply chain when the Covid-19 pandemic hit.

This is because many factories depend directly on Malaysian-made goods, so the two countries have a mutually beneficial economic relationship to this day.

He added that most US companies that have invested have also benefited from the latest technology offered to this country.

It is understood that Malaysia has also agreed to host the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework negotiations that will take place in October this year to discuss how to create a clean economy with renewable energy (RE).
