"Wow the little ones are good at investing, we used to be 12 years old hanging out at the cyber cafe playing games."
Erik Finman, a man from Idaho United States (US) has managed to become the youngest Bitcoin (BTC) millionaire in the world in 2018 when he made an agreement with his parents not to pursue a traditional college degree when he was just 12 years old in May 2011.
This is because Finman wants to make a fortune through some other means, where he who became a millionaire at the age of 18 has taken his opportunity to invest in cryptocurrency.
Explained further, Finma who received $1,245 from his grandmother in 2011 bought about 103 BTC when the price was trading at $12.
Then in December 2017, BTC reaching its all-time high of $20,000 saw Finman's investment increase to $2.07 million from $1,245 and record a growth of 230,033%.
However it should be noted that Finman may have bought more BTC along the way as he reportedly owned 401 BTC worth $4.4 million in January 2018.
Finman has used his wealth to establish an educational platform, but it remains unclear whether he will continue to hold BTC while the crypto market is in bullish momentum in 2021.
If he still holds it, 401 BTC will be worth $27.6 million following its all-time high in November 2021.
There is no denying that many believe that BTC still has a long way to go, but some say that the price could reach $100,000 in the near future plus there is a BTC halving event in April 2024.
Currently, BTC price is down 0.64% at $27,534 in the last 24 hours with a market cap of $537 billion but still gained 1.74% over the last week.
