The latest news reported, the United States (US) Senate has approved a stop-gap funding bill to support government operations and avoid a government shutdown situation.

The vote was 87-11.

After being passed by the House on Tuesday and now having the approval of Senate leaders, the next step is for the bill to be signed by President Joe Biden.

White House officials on Tuesday indicated that the President is preparing to sign the bill after it is approved by the Senate.

This approved funding will continue until January 19 next year with priority funding for military construction, veterans' welfare, transportation, housing and the Department of Energy.

Meanwhile, the rest will be allocated in the second funding until February 2.

The funding proposal is said to not include additional aid to Israel or Ukraine.
