Recently, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that RM700 million had been spent by the previous government (2020-2022) for the purpose of promoting advertisements and publicity.
He further commented, the MADANI government will not provide any additional allocation for the implementation of promotional and publicity works throughout the year 2023, compared to the previous government.
He also instructed the Ministry of Finance to limit the allocation to no more than RM100 million for the implementation of publicity in the next year.
PM Anwar had time to criticize the expenses that had been spent by YB Pagoh, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and YB Bera, Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri because for him it was too high and a violation of governance.
The Prime Minister said this to answer questions from Batu MP P Prabakaran during the Minister's Questions session in the Dewan Rakyat today (Tuesday).
Prabakaran asked about the total amount that the government has spent on promotion and publicity through all mass media platforms.
The government should not use excessive spending when it comes to advertising and publicity, it is best to go to the field to please the community.
