United States Secretary of State, Antony Blinken is scheduled to meet Israeli leaders today in his efforts to prevent the Gaza conflict from further developing and becoming a regional problem.
Earlier, Israel's top military officials said their fight against Hamas would continue throughout the year.
Blinken arrived in Tel Aviv yesterday and briefed Israeli officials on his two days of talks with Arab leaders on steps to end the worsening Israeli-Hamas war conflict.
He also urged the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu to do more to protect the public and ensure that humanitarian aid reaches the hands of those in need.
Throughout the war, the Israeli Zionist regime has killed more than 23,000 Palestinians, destroyed most of Gaza and left 2.3 million of its residents homeless and exacerbated the humanitarian crisis.
Previously, the Israeli army succeeded in killing the top commander of Hamas, Saleh al-Aruri, in a drone attack in Beirut. The news has provoked the anger of the world community and the Hezbollah group in Lebanon will not remain silent if Israel expands the attack area in Gaza.
Israel's Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant in his statement is determined to directly end the Hamas group in Gaza and any group that conspires with Iran.
However, Israel is now being pressured by the United States, its allies and Arab leaders to stop the attack.
A group of pro-Palestinian protesters in South Carolina urged Prime Minister Joe Biden to expedite a ceasefire and order Israeli troops to withdraw from Gaza.
For now, Israeli military officials say they are entering a new phase into northern Gaza to eliminate Hamas and there is no delay or plan to stop.
